How to install the Yealink T29G phone?

Power over Ethernet

With the included or regular Ethernet cable, the SIP-T29G IP phone can be powered from a PoE compliant switch or hub.

How to Connect the Yealink T29G Phone to the Network?

Connecting to the wired network

We can connect the phone to a wired network.

Before connecting your phone to the wired network, it is important to note that the Wi-Fi function must be disabled.

Connecting to the wireless network

The Yealink SIP-T29G IP phone supports Wi-Fi function. We can connect the phone to a wireless network. Wireless network is more convenient and cost effective than wired network. The PC port is not available when using a wireless network.

 

How to Change the Yealink T29G Phone Language?

The default language of the phone’s user interface is English. If the phone does not support your web browser language, the web user interface will use English by default. You can change the language of the phone user interface and the web user interface respectively.

1. Press Menu-> Basic-> Language.

How to Change the Yealink T29G Phone Date and Time?

The time and date are displayed on the LCD screen when the phone is idle. We can set the phone to get the date and time from the SNTP server automatically or set the date and time manually. If the phone cannot obtain the time and date from the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) server, we need to contact our system administrator for more information.

To configure the SNTP settings through the phone’s user interface:
1. Press Menu-> Basic-> Time & Date-> General-> SNTP Settings.

2. Press teclas-direccion-dcha-izq, or the Change key to select the time zone that applies to our Time Zone. The default time zone is “+8”.

3. Enter the domain name or the IP address of the SNTP server in the NTP Server1 and NTP Server2 section respectively.

5. Press teclas-direccion-dcha-izq, or the Change key to select the name of the desired time zone in the Location section.

 

This section only appears if the Daylight Saving Time section is set to Automatic. The default time zone is “China (Beijing)”.

How to Transfer Answered Yealink T29G Call?

Before performing an attended transfer (unless we use the number dialing method), we must ensure that the transfer mode on the DSS key is set to New Call or Attttended Transfer

To make an attended transfer:

1. We press key-transfer or the keyTransferduring a call. 

2. We perform one of the following actions:

  • Insert the number to which we want to transfer the call.
    • Press key-confirmation-yealink or pad to dial.
  • Press the Directory key and then select Local directory. We select the desired group and look for the contact (the directory must be previously configured).
    • Click key-confirmation-yealink, pad, or the Send key to complete the transfer.
  • Press the Directory key and then select History. Select the desired list and then click keyboard-address to select the contact (the directory must be previously configured).
    • Click key-confirmation-yealink, pad, or the Send key to complete the transfer.
  • Press the Directory key and then press Directory remote phone. We select the desired group and search for the contact (the directory must be previously configured).
    • Click key-confirmation-yealink, pad, or the Send key to complete the transfer.

3. Press key-transfer or the Transfer key when you receive the callback.

How to Place a Yealink T29G Call on Hold?

We can enable or disable call waiting on the phone. If call waiting is enabled, we can receive another call while there is already an active call on the phone. Otherwise, the phone automatically rejects another incoming call with a busy message when there is an active call on the phone. We can also enable or disable the phone to play a warning tone when receiving another call. 

To configure Yealink T29G call waiting, follow these steps:

1. Press Menu->Functions->Call Waiting

2. Press tecla-desplazar-ok, or the Change key to select On in the Call waiting section. 

3. Click tecla-desplazar-ok, or the Change key to select On in the Play tone section. .

4. (Optional.) We insert the call waiting or out-of-code code, respectively, in the Code on or off section. 

If the on or off code is configured, the IP phone will send the corresponding code to enable or disable call waiting on the server. It is not available on all servers.

How to Conference Call with Yealink T29G?

We can create a conference with two other people using the phone’s local conference. We can create a conference between an active call and a call on hold (on the same line or on another line). The SIP-T29G IP phone supports up to 3 participants (including ourselves) in a conference call.

Note: To set up a local conference call (from the handset), we must ensure that the local conference feature is enabled.

 

How to Set up a Local Conference Call on Yealink T29G?

1. We call the first participant. 

2. When the first participant answers the call, we press conference-local or the Conference key to make a new call. 

The active call is placed on hold. 

3. We insert the number of the second person and then presskey-confirmation-yealink, pad, or the Send. key.

How to Join Two Calls in a Conference Call with Yealink T29G?

1. We can make two calls using two different accounts on the phone (for example, we make the first call using account 1 and then make the second call using account 2). 

2. Press keypad-address to select the conference call and make sure that the call is active (e.g. select the call on account 1). 

3. Press conference-local or the Conference key to join the two calls in the conference on the selected account.

You can use the call parking feature to put a call on hold and then retrieve the call from another phone in the system (for example, a phone in another office or conference room). An active call can be parked by pressing the Park or call park (if configured) feature key on the phone.

If the call was successfully parked, there is a voice message confirming that the call was parked. We can retrieve the parked call by pressing the Retrieve function key or the retrieve parked key (if configured). If the parked call is not retrieved within a time period defined by the system, the phone performing the call park will receive the callback. .

Note: Call parking is not available on all servers.The IP phone supports the call parking feature in the following modes: Call parking is not available on all servers.

  • FAC mode: park the call at the local extension or at the desired extension by dialing the park code. 
  • Transfer mode: we will park the call on a shared parking by performing a blind transfer to a call parking number (call parking code).

We can use call capture to answer another person’s incoming call on your phone. The SIP-T29G IP phone supports directed call capture and group call capture. Directed call capture is used to capture a ringing call on a destination phone number. Group call capture is used to capture a call ringing on any phone number in a specified group. The capture group must be predefined; we must contact the system administrator for more information.  .

We can capture an incoming call using the programmable answer DPickup/GPickup . To use call capture, we must configure the call capture code beforehand globally or per line via the web user interface

Note: If there are many incoming calls at the same time, pressing the GPickup softkey, will capture on the phone the call that rang first.

 

How to Capture a Yealink T29G Call?

To capture a call in Yealink, previously our administrator has had to configure it in the web interface.

We perform the capture of a call as follows:

  • We lift the handset, press the speaker key or press the line key (we may need to press the More key to see the multifunction key DPickup).

We can send and receive text messages using the SIP-T29G IP phone. New text messages can be indicated both acoustically and visually. When a new text message is received, the phone will play a warning tone. The power indicator LED will slowly flash red and the LCD display will show “n new text messages” (“n” indicates the number of unread text messages, e.g. 1 new text message) and an icon.

Note: when the phone receives a text message, the text message window will appear by default on the LCD screen.

You can store text messages in the Inbox, Sent, Outbox of your phone or Draftbox. Each of the sections can store up to 100 text messages. If the number of text messages is more than 100, the phone will directly delete the oldest text message.
